Review: Dracula, The Company Of Monsters

This comic is only 2 issues in, with previews for #3 coming out this week.
Issue #1 is available on the Boom! Studios app by Comixology

You would think that, what with the X-Men and Ultimate Avengers dealing with vampires we would be bored of Dracula by now – but Boom have me interested!
This issue is just a build up – giving a history of Vlad/Dracula mixed in with our protagonist and his slightly crazy uncle.
The build up is really well paced and makes me eager for more. For those who thought that Boom! was just about Irredeemable and Incorruptible, this may change your mind.
The story does put me in mind of the beginning of Blade: Trinity, but without Blade.
The art mixes the old stories of Vlad with the ‘lighter’ modern times.
Special mention should be for the second cover, below:

I can’t wait for issue #2
