As we come towards the end of the year, I am going to be reflecting on the state of mobile comics and the changes we have had over the last twelve months. I will be looking at distributors, contributors and publishers.
Boom have taken the Comxiology engine for their app too this year, and with their lead titles - Irredeemable and Incorruptible – they have pushed these to the moon! They have also managed to acquire the Farscape licence and along with other home grown titles such as Dracula: In The Company of Monsters, seem to have a strong base to move forward into 2011.
It would be good if Boom! could use the app to distribute some of the Disney and Pixar titles too, which have had excellent reports and I would like to read, perhaps there is some licensing issues stopping them!
Boom! is a strong brand, but will need to add something new to get a real niche in the market
