This is from Archie Comics site – looks like they are making moves on their digital commitment. I’ve found that, in the UK at least, Archie don’t feature as much – perhaps this is a good way for them to reach out to new markets.
Archie Comics is thrilled announce that Graphic.ly will be offering Archie digital comics on the same day the physical books are released!
Archie continues to lead the comics industry in embracing the digital medium, as well as making it easier than ever for our fans to get their favorite Archie comics.
Starting in April, Archie Comics will be making its 6 core titles (Archie, Archie and Friends, Betty, Veronica, Betty and Veronica and Jughead)Â available day-and-date through Graphic.ly.
As with the previously announced plans to make Archie comics available day-and-date through the Archie Comics app, the Archie digital titles at Graphic.ly will be priced at an amazing $1.99.
“When we announced plans to go day-and-date through our own, standalone app, our friends at Graphic.ly immediately reached out and said ‘we want to do this, too,'” said Archie Co-CEO Jon Goldwater. “They’ve been so professional, easy to work with and innovative in everything they do, it took less than a minute to agree. We like and respect the team at Graphic.ly and are excited to get more creative and forward-looking in the work we do with them. As always, Archie will continue to push forward on digital and lead the charge into this new frontier.”
Graphic.ly isn’t just a digital marketplace for comics; it is an online community for fans and creators alike, and Archie is very happy to be part of this community.
“We’re are extremely excited to partner with Archie Comics in taking this next step in their digital strategy,” said Micah Baldwin, CEO of Graphic.ly, “Archie Comics are an institution and we’re proud to be able to offer them to our community, especially now that their titles are going day and date. We consider the team behind Archie Comics to be a big part in what we’ve been doing at Graphic.ly and I personally can’t wait to see what more great things will come from our partnership.”
Users can go to Graphicly.com to get our apps or they go to Graphic.ly’s Archie page to read Archie Comics on the web.
