With over four-million units sold and thirty-five free updates, which have introduced mini-games, new islands to discover, and creative ways to smite Pygmies, Pocket God continues to impress day one fans and new players alike with its irreverent humor and originality.

“We’re excited to bring out POCKET GOD: INFESTATION,” stated Jeff Webber, IDW’s director of ePublishing. “This was a perfect storm of events – Michael Murphey, CEO of iVerse, brought IDW, Ape and Bolt together with the crazy idea of one more universe that needed infesting. POCKET GOD comics have been one of the biggest comics phenomenon of the iOS App Store. Commando Comics at the National Army Museum

Although not digital/mobile comic news, I think this needs to get extra news out there!

The National Army Museum is near the Royal Hospital Chelsea in South West London and deserves a visit!

National Army Museum Goes Commando

Draw Your Weapons: The Art of Commando Comics

Scenes of action and adventure fill the walls of the National Army Museum as ‘Draw Your Weapons: The Art of Commando Comics’, our newest exhibition, kicks off on Thursday 1 September 2011.

This colourful and dynamic exhibition explores the heritage of the war comic from its initial conception, its heroic subject-matter and its continuing popularity. The exhibition boasts original Commando equipment and histories from the Museum’s Collection as well as the iconic dagger featured on the front of the Commando comic. Launched in partnership with leading publisher, DC Thomson, this explosive exhibition showcases key artwork and illustrations that draw on the 50 years of the Commando series.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, Commando has captured the imagination of generations of children through courageous adventures, technical accuracy and high-quality art work.

Exhibition curator, Robert Fleming, said: ‘War comics have huge appeal for all. They’re packed with bold, brave tales and images which communicate the complexities of conflicts. The National Army Museum is delighted to work with DC Thomson to host this exhibition and celebrate Commando’s 50 successful years.’

Calum Laird, editor of Commando at DC Thomson, said: ‘Everyone at Commando is delighted that this major exhibition of Commando artwork is to be hosted by the National Army Museum, as one of the key activities of our 50th anniversary celebrations. We’re sure that fans of Commando old and new, will revel in this display of comic art at its best, exhibited so dynamically by the National Army Museum.’
