Robot Media Brings The Wormwood Saga To iPad

Robot Media, who have brought us titles like ‘Robot 13’ are now bringing ‘The Wormwood Saga’ to the ipad!

With big visuals and a unique style that Robot Media bring to the table, The Wormwood Saga is one of the new breed of digital comics which veer away from ‘normal’ layouts!

Introducing The Wormworld Saga iPad App by renowned digital artist Daniel Lieske and mobile publisher Robot Media. Discover the breathtaking fantasy world that enchanted a million readers already!

The Wormworld Saga is an episodic graphic novel designed for tablets devices, from the mind of acclaimed illustrator Daniel Lieske. Unlike traditional graphic novels, each chapter is digitally painted on a seemingly infinite canvas, providing an immersive reading experience that draws the reader right into a fully realized fantasy world.

The Wormworld Saga follows the life and adventures of Jonas Berg, who at a young age enters a parallel world through a forgotten painting in a dusty attic.

“Inside the Wormworld Jonas finds indescribable wonders, new friend, love and hate, good and evil and he reveals his family legacy, which makes him become a central figure in an epic conflict that shakes the Wormworld and drives it to the brink of its destruction” says creator Daniel Lieske.

Produced by digital publisher Robot Media, the Wormworld Saga app finally allows readers to experience Lieske’s saga the way it was meant to be read: the app provides better image quality and scrolling performance than the web version, and uses a seamless touch interface for reading.

Keeping with the spirit of the web edition, the app itself and the main narrative are available to everyone for free. For those who want to support the continued development of the saga, a paid Collector’s Edition is also available.

The Collector’s Edition includes behind-the-scenes commentary by the author and an exclusive digital artbook that provides additional insight about the creative process. The Collector’s Edition also allows to view the painted artwork without dialogue, and share any scene through Facebook, Twitter and email.

“We see the Collector’s Edition as a window into the making of a modern classic. Our goal is to provide Daniel an outlet where his far-reaching vision can be shared with fans of the Wormworld in the clearest way possible. We can only hope that the app is big enough to contain it all!” says Robot Media’s Head RobotHermes Pique.

The Wormworld Saga iPad app is now available for free in the iTunes App Store. The graphic novel is included in English, Spanish, German and French. An Android tablet version is currently in development.

About Robot Media

Based in Barcelona, Robot Media works with renowned authors and publishers worldwide to bring content to new platforms, such as iPad, iPhone, Android and Kindle. They have produced hundreds of titles which have attracted millions of downloads, including The Adventures of Simon Pegg with Random House, Scott Pilgrim with HarperCollins and the Introducing series with Icon Books.

Robot Media won Seedcamp, Europe’s premier startup accelerator, in 2010, and recently received the Publishing Innovation Award at Digital Book World 2011 in New York. The Wormworld Saga App is the first in a series of digital graphic novel releases that fully make use of the possibilities of mobile devices.

About Daniel Lieske

The Wormworld Saga App is the latest milestone in the success story of German digital artist and graphic novel author Daniel Lieske. After a notable fundraisingcampaign, which raised over $23.000 for the development of the app, and a book publishing deal with German publisher Tokyopop, Lieske quit his job in computer games to concentrate on the development of the Wormworld Saga Digital Graphic Novel instead.

With the launch of the app, Lieske sets his foot into independent digital publishing and hopes to raise a new benchmark for digital graphic novels and serve as inspiration for other independent creators.
