CDComics: War Nurse

CDComics goes Golden Age
CDComics has revamped the Domain Free British WWII heroine War Nurse who first appeared in issue 13 of Speed Comics, back in 1941.
“I came across War Nurse by accident and thought she was a great character with loads of possibilities, and when I realised she was public domain free, I just had to go for it.”
This new 42 page comic reworks the origin of the public domain free WWII heroine and introduces a supporting cast that includes, Nikola Tesla, Winston Churchill, Aleister Crowley and Donar (Thor).
The narrative asks the question why a nurse, when faced with a U-Boat full of Nazis, would strip down to her underwear. transform herself into War Nurse? This is a tongue in cheek, fist fest, shut em up with plenty of action and the premis is that every nurse knows prevention is better than any cure.
Patricia Parker is from the village Dolville near London and works at St Thomas Hospital near Whitehall. The story starts on the second day on the Blitz as the hospital where she works takes a direct hit and after she seeing that she decides that she can’t let it happen again.
The comic is only the first issue and leaves the reader with plenty to think about and the comic will be released on quarterly basis, so August will see the release of issue two.
War Nurse follows on from the success of CDComics Surreal Murder Mystery Series and Manhattan 1930..
“These Graphic Novels and comics were designed to be read on computer and at this price, what’s not to like.”
