Well, this is a controversial issue. With a lot of mainstream reporting about the ‘controversial’ gay storyline here.
In Judge Dredd: Closet we get a very uniquely written story from the point of view of one of the citizens of Mega City One.
It’s a very good story, with a lot squeezed in withing it. Bearing in mind the amount of space each one shot story gets. You get some great humour, sadness and understanding. I personally think it’s a very good piece and hope it gets the recognition it deserves!
Classic lines here:
“Impersonating a Judge. Using the Uniform for…entertainment purposes.
You’re all looking at five in a cube”
“Five to a Cube Oooh!”
“FIVE YEARS”
Part 6 of the 8th book of Savage continues the story of the re-taking of England with the thoughts and feelings of both sides and their commanding officers responses!
Savage continues to be a traditional 2000AD title, but is by no means out of place here!
After the car chase last week, Ampney Crucis slows down a little, but although the talking heads may seem slower, there’s a lot to take in here with a new piece to the puzzle introduced right at the end. The art can seem a little off to people, but it works very nicely here.
The Red Seas is just one big battle with some excellent spreads and large panels. The open feeling of the pages is a change from the rest of the issue.
Strontium Dog brings us back into the gritty side of the second mutant war, with Johnny Alpha getting down and dirty. Lots of explosions and action going on here and something to keep the boys happy for the end of the issue!
