Review: Doctor Who #13

IMG_1483

The Doctor and Clara cross paths with Oscar Wilde and Calamity Jane in the frontier town of Deadwood as the pay their respects to the recently passed Wild Bill Hickok. But soon they discover the grave is empty and that the town is being plagued by a masked gunman who shoots his victims with nothing but a finger!

Kicking off a new arc and a new team on Doctor Who, we get some nice meta references – the Doctor meeting Oscar Wilde before (or after) and the stetsons! This is a nice mystery here with the doctor eliminating the obvious answers – an auton or cyberman, and leaving us with a cliffhanger for the next issue. There’s the addition of Calamity Jane and Oscar Wilde that make this a fun read!
