Review: 2000AD – Prog 1857

1857

A brilliantly dark cover linking to the final part of the Judge Dredd story.

The final part of ‘Prey’ in Judge Dredd, gives a satisfying conclusion to the story – with those deserving getting what they deserve. This has been a good look at the continued fallout from Chaos Day to something you don’t usually get in Mega City One. The predator was excellent, as is the reasoning behind it – something I suspected, but wasn’t too sure about! – Maybe we’ll see more of them!

Brass Sun continues the escape from The Keep – and this is an ‘on the run issue’ moving to the next threat, but it’s well done. The characters attitudes, although mixed, fit in well and I look forward to the next part of the story.

The Badlanders in Flesh move on to the final part of their plan, with the completion of a gruesome fight which is still bloody even in black & white. The plan looks close to what will be the end, but there’s still some parts of the plan that may go awry!

The second part of Tharg’s 3hrillers – Rewind add some different extras to the time travel genre with the newbie still not understanding what is going on. If memory serves me, these are three-parters so the conclusion is going to come along quick!

It’s origin time in Damnation Station – and we find out about the enemy, the host and most of all about Joe. It’s an interesting method, with some excellent art! This is a good catch up part!
