Review: Three #2

Three slaughter survivors race towards the free city of Messene. Pursuing them are 300 Spartans. Why? What makes Sparta think that unleashing this isn’t massive overkill? What makes a Spartan king agree to lead them? And what secrets do the Helot workers hold that changes everything…

The slaughter from last issue continues this week, as well as the set up and reasoning for the escape of the Three. The action is supplanted to an excellent political scene in Sparta with the Spartan King trying to use his diplomatic skills to set things right. Then we get to the point of the series. The story telling is slick and well done, with some brilliant art that I enjoy in this as I did in Saucer Country!
We’ve got a good idea of the characters and a way forward…
The covers are also excellent and I hope they continue this theme!
