If Comixology is the iTunes of digital comics, then ComicFix is the Spotify – I think that best rounds up what we have here. It all depends on how you wish to consume and pay for your digital comics. Personally I think this is what digital comics has been leading to!

ComixFix is available to read online, on iOS and Android and for your $9.99 a month you get a varied and building selection of digital comics.

The reading experience is slick, without any lag and clear. Flicking through the pages is easy as swiping and then you can zoom in on different panels.

There’s an amazing selection of genres available too – also shown above – they are currently sorted into “Top Picks”, “Graphic Novels”, “Featured Titles” (Currently ‘The Boys’ from Dynamite Entertainment), “Science Fiction”, “Horror”, “Superheroes”, “Independent”, “Fantasy”, “Kids” & “Manga”

In addition to this there is also a search tool, which allows you to be able to search by keywords. I would like to see this evolve into a filter as well, so you can filter by genre, publisher, age and title!

There’s a good amount of publishers too, with Dynamite Entertainment recently being added, Markosia and Bluewater Entertainment. The big selling point for me is the independent comics!

You can submit your own digital comics for distribution on ComicsFix – and although details are still being ironed out, there seems a good incentive to read and distribute these on this platform!

In summary I would say that ComicsFix is a welcome addition to the digital comics market. I think $9.99 is a good price and is close to what I spend weekly on digital comics anyway – and I always feel/wish I could get more!

I will endevour to bring you news on their new releases and publishers!
