Reviews: Moon Knight, Daredevil & Star Wars

Thoughts on this weeks Marvel Comics

Star Wars #5

The greatest space adventure of all time continues! As Luke goes home in search of the truth about his late mentor, Leia takes Han on a secret mission of vital importance to the Rebellion. Unfortunately, they both run into some unfriendly encounters.

Splitting the story into two, we get Luke looking for answers in his quest to become a Jedi, but Vader had already made plans for what was sure to happen and his agent was already on the look out – Boba Fett! This part builds up for next issue, where look seems to have a fight on his hands. Meanwhile there is some back and forth flirting between Han and Leia – then they go out on a mission together where Han messes things up and things look worrying for them! There has been some nice build here, and these stories look like they are shaping up nicely!

Moon Knight #15

There is a monster under the beds of the children of Manhattan and he’s hungry. Many children have already fallen to the beast’s hunger and it’s up to Moon Knight to stop it.

Always when children are involved it seems a little more personal – and here there is something under the bed eating them! This issue kicks off with Moon Knight taking a kicking, and there is some interesting conversations with his god! The monster is suitably scary and Moon Knight harking back to his mercenary day was very interesting. The cliffhanger at the end looks good for the next issue!

Daredevil #15.1

The life and times of Daredevil. 50 years in the making!

Taking the backstory of Daredevil’s autobiography as a staging point, this “point one” story gives us some insite into perhaps why and how Daredevil functions. There are some unique situations, with some good old fashioned stories with a point and a way to understand how he does things!
