We’ve got ComicsFix, Scribd, Marvel Digital Unlmited, the soon to follow Comics Blitz and now there are rumours that Comixology are planning their own subscription service.
Bleeding Cool have brought this up again, with the rumours stating that there may be an announcement at NYCC.
Personally, I’m not surprised that this may happen – I always suspected this when Amazon bought the digital comics distributor. I agree with Bleeding Cool that this probably won’t include the latest releases, but will probably work the same as the other subscription services – similar also to Netflix, Amazon Prime and the others. The advantage will probably be for those wishing to either ‘binge read’ series, or the latest releases from Comixology Submit.
The question will be, will the strength of Amazon behind them be enough?
