A launch point for new readers, this two part story rounds up what has been happening to Calie lately and gives us a good look at Wonderland and the state it is in now. The madness of Wonderland is spreading and there are additional problems added to Calie’s known problems! As well as the card pieces,we also get some about the chess pieces too with the Squire in serious trouble. But the trouble is coming that Calie only suspects!

Now that Dorothy Gale has ascended the throne of Oz, it’s time to take the fight to her evil mother Zamora, and her deadly ally, Warlord! As disturbing details about Dorothy’s birth are revealed, her allies plan to separate Warlord from his anti-magical sword, Reaver, and expose their enemies to Dorothy’s new-found magical might. But when Smynth’s master strategy relies upon the “skills” of the drunken minstrel, Rho’Kat, what hope do they really have left?
There seems to be a fightback on the cards – with Dorothy collecting and planning her fight against her mother and the Warlord! There are new allies and a plan to weaken Zamora’s forces, but will it work? We are left with the overall feeling that it won’t, but this is Oz… I was interested to hear the admission that Smythe made, and would like to see that revisted!
