Reviews on the latest Doctor Who comics and Death Sentence – London

Death Sentence: London #3

The smash-hit sex, death and superpowers series continues – now ongoing! Verity digs through the wreckage of her life, looking for clues to her future – little knowing that she’s become the most valuable person in the world! Weasel rockets up the charts! And in the US, Jeb’s marital troubles take an explosive turn, as more of the FBI’s plans come to light. Plus – a journalist has dug up a juicy scoop on London’s Mayor… What will he do to make it all go away?

Sex, death and superpowers are right, with this issue continuing to bring the main characters together and adding some extra intrigue with something on the Mayor of London! The art add magnificently to the chaos of the post-devastation London. Verity’s story continues to be interesting as well as the others, I’m looking forward to see where this is going, as this series is full of surprises!

Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor #14

Just one issue away from this year’s season finale, and things have never looked more dangerous for the Doctor and Gabby! Separated by an ancient force from the centre of the galaxy, the Doctor takes a cosmic trip into the history of the universe, while Gabby must negotiate with an unearthly intelligence for the sake of the planet! How much has she learned from her brief travels with the Doctor… and will it be enough to save her?!

The Tenth Doctor deals with alien/gods and the fallout of their past as he and Gabby are separated and have to deal with the cosmic trip and a galactic history lesson. The Doctor has a plan, but there are things that the Doctor doesn’t expect! The cliffhanger confirms it! The back and forth between the Doctor and the companions is excellent – as well as how the Doctor reacts to the cult members – you can almost feel his frustration!

Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor #15

It’s the end… But the moment has been prepared for!

The end of this ‘season’ wraps up all, ready for the 2015 event, as well as for next ‘season’. This was an excellent read – full of heart as the Doctor comes to grips with himself, the Talent Scout and Arc/The Entity. This series has been full of this – and it works so well for fans of this Doctor and works well!

Doctor Who 2015 Event: The Four Doctors #1

What shocking past event brings three Doctors together – to combat an unknown foe with three incarnations in its sights?

There are four Doctors in this comics – but only 3 of them meet.  We do get the War Doctor, in the midst of the Time War and there are some interesting looks into the character that many have been clamoring for! Meanwhile there is a meeting of minds, no, not those ones – the three companions meet up in France, trying to stop the three Doctors from meeting at a fixed point in time – it doesn’t work, and then we see why this is a bad thing!
