Constantine: The Hellblazer #3
Someone is murdering ghosts, a supernatural crime so impossible to solve that John Constantine is forced to return to London and seek help from the one person he hates more than any other; a magician above reproach, a darling of London high society, and a friend to superheroes everywhere. She is Georgiana Snow…the HECKBLAZER!
John returns to England, with some flashbacks to his younger life, as well as his relationship with others! John seeks some help from someone who so clearly doesn’t like him, but it’s interesting to see the difference in these to magicians – their reactions to each other, as well as their different methods! There is the traditional dark Constantine humour here, as well as a host of horrible things! – I’m still enjoying this run!Gotham Academy #9
If the gang thought it was hard to keep up with their homework before, now there’s a werewolf on campus at Gotham Academy! Talk about distractions!
Gotham Academy does well to combine some single shot stories – in this case a werewolf – while adding to the main story arc! The gang acting in a form of Mystery Inc is excellent – acting as kids may do – meanwhile we get some more backstory on Calamity and the rest of those involved in Gotham Academy. This issue ends with an interesting cliffhanger, which makes me look forward to next issue!
