Rat Queens #12
Along the deadly mountain trail leading to Mage University, Hannah stumbles across an old friend from an old life. The mysterious figure knows a secret past that Hannah wants no one else to ever know about.
Secrets! There are a lot of secrets within the team of Rat Queens at this point. We get a brief glimpse into the history of the characters. This is only a glimpse though, and it’s shown via the threat towards them and the teams personal safety as they travel through the mountains to their destination. This was an interesting issue as we discover that there is more about them and some of their backstory. I’m looking forward to learning more about them. There was some action too as they fought demon spirits and fought for each other!
Sex Criminals #12
Suzie and Jon continue the worst recruitment plan in the history of entertaining second-act montage sequences. Getting the band together never had so many fluids. By Hollywood jerkhole MATT FRACTION (ODY-C, SATELLITE SAM, Hawkeye) and literally a shed-full of car keys that somehow manages to draw comics.
We get some weird as Suzie and Jon try to recruit for their plan – it’s something that should be light (ish) turned very dark, but they discover more about people who are powered like themselves. Meanwhile the Sex Police have their own plans, and ways of getting what they want – we also get to see a bit more of the other Sex Police – even if we would rather not!
