Two of Zenescope Entertainments digital comics reviewed!
Oz: Reign of the Witch Queen #5
The epic OZ trilogy CONTINUES! The Heroes of Oz have finally vanquished Warlord, only to find that their victory was all part of Zamora’s plan to fully corrupt her daughter, Dorothy Gale! Once upon a time, all of Oz suffered under the terrible thrall of the Witch Queen; what hope have they now against the most powerful mother-daughter combo in the history of the Four Realms?
It looks like the Witch-Queens are in charge as things look bleakest before dawn. This was a good even issue with a decent amount of action, combined with some good information being given too. The ending was very well done, although there is some confusion as to how we got there, but I’m sure we will get an explanation in the final issue. The art continues to be excellent, as you would come to expect in these stories!
Grimm Fairy Tales 10th Anniversary One Shot – Cinderella #1
The fifth of six special 2015 Zenescope 10th Anniversary One-Shots is here. When the evil Cinderella is confronted by her past, she must make a decision to exact revenge or show mercy on those who have wronged her. Will Cindy take her chance for redemption, or will she choose the path of evil once more?
This one-shot has some links to the issues in the Grimm Fairy Tales main series and it links up very nicely. It also provides a new beginning for the Dark Horde after the ending of the Realm War series (you’re going to have to wait for that though) It’s all played pretty straight in this issue, but with the sort of mad humour that you would come to expect from Cinderella!
