Europe Comics, the all digital and all European graphic novel initiative, has announced today its official launch with the activation of the beta version of its website, www.europecomics.com, and the release of 10 new titles.
This closes the social media countdown campaign ’33 Days to Europe Comics’ that opened at the New York Comic Con, passed by the Frankfurt Book Fair and saw the release of nine special pre-launch titles.
The titles released on November 10th include vampire series Raptors, by star duo Dufaux and Marini; Larcenet’s slice of life masterpiece Ordinary Victories, suspense-packed Alter Ego (Lapière, Renders, Reynès) and Russian Tsarist semifictional Death to the Tsar (Nury, Robin). Adding even more variety to the Europe Comics catalog are the hilarious everyday philosophical dilemmas of Pico Bogue (Dormal, Roques), the Texan drug-baron hunter Tyler Cross (Nury, Brûno), the exhilarating and absurd undertakings of Kinky & Cosy (Nix) and the ruthless Ancient Roman intrigues of Murena (Dufaux, Delaby).
This first selection of titles comes from the catalogs of French and Belgian publishers Dargaud, Dupuis and Le Lombard. A second wave of releases, coming on November 25th, will include the futuristic saga Keepers of Lost Time (Marić, Radovanović) from Serbian publisher Darkwood, Spanish cyberspace thriller Bitcoin (Preukschat, Busquet, Ares) from Dibbuks and Flemish children’s classic Jeremy (Nys), from Ballon Media.
The Europe Comics catalog will be growing at a rate of about 15-20 titles per month.
