GOOGLE Announces New Tech For Reading Digital Comics | Newsarama.com

Google is rolling out a new advancement in the way digital comics are read. Bubble Zoom is a new innovation for the Google Play Books app which can automatically zoom in on the speech balloons of a comic book.”[Bubble Zoom] zooms into the speech bubbles of a comic book one-tap-at-a-time, making them super easy to read on your mobile device,” said Greg Hartrell, Google Play Books’ Head of Product. “It’s much easier to read digital comics one-handed as Bubble Zoom automatically identifies and expands each speech bubble for readability. No more compromising the full-page experience or getting lost while panning around.”Bubble Zoom will be available on the latest version of the Google Play Books app for Android devices rolling out Thursday, beginning first with Marvel and DC’s collected volumes sold through the Google Play store. Bubble Zoom will currently only be available for English language digital comics, but Hartrell said there is plans to eventually roll it out to all digital comics and manga Google Play Books carries.
