Review: 2000 AD Prog 1989

Thoughts on this weeks Prog from 2000 AD

1989

Judge Dredd’s assault on the Texas City judges begins here in Reclamation, and although it seems that Dredd has a plan, it seems a little shaky to me. I’m interested to see where this is going, as there are some slight hints that Dredd has something in the works!

Brink features a lot of explanation, but I think we’re at the point that it is needed. What we get is a new explanation of the status quo as well as what is being planned for the new life for the inhabitants. It feels like the plan is just replacement, which isn’t the best way to go. Kurtis’s reaction seem perfectly reasonable to me, but you can see the other point of view!

Things start to make sense in Black Shuck as the demon involved makes its presence felt. It’s a fast read, with little talk, but a lot of movement!

Future Shocks gives us a nice quick futuristic western bounty hunter story, although it was a good story, I did see the twist coming.

Finally we get some details in Scarlet Traces, as this new martian explains what is going on – the who, the why and the where. We get an idea on where this is going too, so it’s building up!
