Review: 2000 AD Prog 1990

My thoughts on the latest 2000 AD

1990

An excellent unique cover here!

Judge Dredd concludes the Reclamation part in 2000 AD – there’s more in the Megazine. It’s a satisfying ending, with some nice cameos! What comes next isn’t easy though!

Plans within plans in Brink, as we find out exactly just what has been planned, and why people are behaving the way they are. When you think about it, it’s been obvious! Very well done!

The two stories combine in Black Shuck as we get the battle teased between the two beasts while the queen is labour. We also get a further understanding of the nature of the children being born. Very well written with some excellent art – no history this week though!

Outlier returns and it looks like the battle between the humans and the Hurde is escalating after the last story arc. The Hurde are attacking more, and the humans are planning their fightback. We also get a good look at the Hurde mentality from a human survivor!

Scarlet Traces continues the cold war with a jump into the future and we get a look at how some of the refugees are treated – a bit depressing but interesting nevertheless. The buildup is good though – you could see where it was going to go until the end!
