This is drops us in, as suspected, a new and different future timeline, with some very nice and fun big brother tropes. I really enjoyed this issue with all the characters you would expect, but with all the changes of the new timeline. Marty is a ‘nerd’ in this timeline and has no girlfriend, but he works his way to see the Doc, who is not what you would expect. There is also more outside of this – someone else planning and arranging everything and it finishes off the issue in a grim way!
