Review: 2000 AD Prog 1999

1999

A good fun cover this week that will pop on the shelves!

We kick off this week with a one-shot Judge Dredd story with some juves running amok with a synthetic dinosaur! Yes, really – but it’s full of some great classic 2000 AD humour with a nice twist at the end and some fun with the eldsters parade!

Jaegir completes the arc with a promise of a return, and I’m looking forward to it. This was an excellent piece as the story is told in two parts – one of her and her hunt through the underground of Nordland after tainted children and the other story of her father fighting off assassins. It finishes off nicely for the next arc!

Scarlet Traces also finishes the arc with a promise of things to come – there is a secret told and a way forward for those fighting on Venus and Mars – and hopefully those on earth. The ending is very interesting too!

Wow! The end of Outlier was excellent, and not what I expected! The Hurde make thier final play and it’s a big one. It’s hard to talk about without giving it away, but it is excellent!

The ending to Anderson – The Candidate was also interesting – with Anderson making a big decision, and it seems to work out nicely. I really enjoyed the art in this part with the psi side being the best!
