Review: 2000 AD Prog 2000

It’s here – Prog 2000!

And as Tharg himself says that’s over sixty thousand pages!!!

A nice introduction from Tharg too!

Judge Dredd kicks off with a special story featuring our old friend Johnny Alpha! Things quickly go south with the (sort of) return of a classic old enemy of Dredd – it looks even worse for Dredd as he put on trial too! It’s a fun read and I’m always glad to see Dredd and Alpha team up!
I’m also glad to see a special Judge return too!

After a quick visit from Tharg we’re back to….

Nemesis! He and Torquemada have had many epic battles and this prog seems to add to all of that, with Nemesis getting one over on the Termite leader – the revenge is swift and well done, excellent art and storytelling!

Tharg checks in with a look at the war stories we’ve had in 2000AD – including Rogue Trooper, Bad Company and more!

Rogue Trooper is a favourite of mine and we get a brief rundown of his story and what it’s like on Nu-Earth. I really hope this leads into a bigger Rogue Trooper story! The art is fantastic!

Tharg looks more into Dredd’s world which leads us into…

Judge Anderson has a dream of Death – Judge Death and it looks amazing with some really special art and a good read too!

Tharg then looks at the 90’s – not a brilliant time, but we got….

Sinister Dexter. We get a good look at one of the Sinster Dexter supporting cast – Ramon’s car! It starts off as a nice read, but looks to be something more as we look to be getting some more Sinister Dexter in the future – not the end…..?

Bringing us to now, Tharg introduces a new story – Counterfeit Girl. This issue works well as an introduction, with false ID’s the authorities, a big corporation and more to come, it’s bright and garish and full of Sci-fi!

Finally we get a look to what is coming in Prog 2001:

JUDGE DREDD: GET SIN BY ROB WILLIAMS & TREVOR HAIRSINE

FLESH: GOREHEAD BY PAT MILLS & CLINT LANGLEY

HUNTED BY GORDON RENNIE & PJ HOLDEN

SAVAGE: THE MÄRZE MURDERER BY PAT MILLS & PATRICK GODDARD

COUNTERFEIT GIRL BY PETER MILLIGAN & RUFUS DAYGLO
