Reviews: Saga & Surgeon X

My thoughts on the latest issue of Saga and new series Surgeon X

Anotehr excellent splash page from Saga and the art continues to be a joy to behold. This was an interesting issue as there is learning curve for some of the characters here. There is good mix of humour and heart as Prince Robot wants to get away, while the others are still settling in to their refueling area. things don’t go to plan as usual – with attacks, and the refueling taking a lot longer than usual. Then there is the ending – another heart wrenching ending….. 🙁

A new series which has a very Vertigo feel and no wonder! This is a good thing though, as the story is excellent. Set in the future there are restrictions on medical supplies and things look to get worse. Now there is someone making a stand and this issue (oversized and all) shows us it all and sets it up nicely! Some excellent art and some excellent storytelling too. The characters were well fleshed out and individuals. The action scenes were well done, in large panels and the more close up one. I’m looking forward to reading more of this series and ask you to get on the ground floor!
