Review: 2000 AD Prog 2005

Judge Dredd, Savage, Flesh, Hunted & Counterfeit Girl in this issue!

My thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD!

2005

The black and white of this cover, combined with the red of the logo and sub-heading make it really pop!

Judge Dredd kicks off with the continuation of the mystery of “Act Of Grud” with some real investigative works going on. This was a really compelling read as we get closer and closer to the reasons behind the mystery. Dredd being Dredd worked well here and it gave us the feeling of frustration other Judges must have dealing with him. Other points, nice to see Dirty Frank and also Dredd referencing punching the supernatural!

Savage begins his investigation into the thousand year stare in the Marze Murders, and while that is happening there is the murder investigation going on behind the scenes. Nika seems to have got some ideas over who is doing the murders, and she seems to be getting to the bottom of things – when will her and Savage cross?

Hunted gives us a brief background of his assistant Dron, while in the meantime we get an update as to what the Rogue Trooper is up to. Of course we get an unplanned appearance that has not been planned for and this is just one of those! Great stuff!

Flesh continues on and we get some revelations in Gorehead, as well as an interesting back and forth between father and daughter! We also get a return (it may be short lived) and it’s the one we’ve been waiting for. There’s seven days left until the big bang!

Things are all going wrong for Libra in Counterfeit Girl! The sentient disease, quarantine – and if you think that’s bad. It looks like we are getting towards the final run of this arc and I’m really enjoying it – the running commentary of her rash is also fun!
