My thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD
Act Of Grud completes its arc in Judge Dredd and Judge Sam seems to have made all the links to the mystery. Has he made them too late though, we see here. This has been an interesting arc, re-introducing Sam to the story after the messy Encladius affair and now he’s dealing with something within the Judges own house! I like the ending and I especially like the ? after ‘The End’
After Gorehead appeared at the end of the last issue, we get some great silent pages of just him, fighting his was free. It’s violent, visceral and bloody – all brilliantly drawn! Then we get the ‘big bang’ as the Flesh team celebrate (?) the end of the dinosaurs. There’s still the worry about what comes next as the big bang wasn’t supposed to be for a while, but all the time meddling has moved it forward!
Hunted brings the violence as the Rogue Trooper, the bounty hunter and the norts all move in on the generals position. The trap has been well and truly sprung and now we see who gets out of it all alive! Some don’t make it that far (some die off panel) so this looks to be a bloody affair. I like the building up of the other characters!
Part 6 of the Marze Murders continues the investigation and it seems like the murders and the Thousand Year Stare are all connected. It looks like more than one person has also discovered who the murderer is and we get an explanation of sorts for it all, but it looks to be building into the bigger story as Savage is in a lot of trouble!
Libra seems to be getting a bit of a hold on her problems in Counterfeit Girl – she’s managed to put the nasty sentient virus on hold for a while, meanwhile she’s trying to get hold of the splicer who fitted her with the ID. There’s a good part where she finally works out how to get things working for her, and it leads her into some more trouble!
