Review: GFT Genesis: Heroes Rising

Another excellent one-shot issue from Zenescope, where we have five stories featuring some of the main players in this new Grimm Fairy Tales universe.
First up is a Red Agent story with Britney recounting her last mission to someone who doesn’t seem to like or trust her. It’s a good read, with a nice feel good ending. We get a good idea of Britney, her mission, who she works for (and why) and what type of people she is up against!
Mystere features in a quick introduction – we get her powers (raising the dead) and hints at towards what is coming up in what looks like her own series. This was more of a teaser, but it gets me interested in the stories to come!
We get some Hellchild in the next story, which links to her current adventures in the underground monster fight clubs. It’s a predictable story and ending, but it showcases Hellchild and her strengths and also gives us a good rundown on her background.
Zamora features in the next story on Oz – acting as a prequel to the Warlord story this is quite a quick read, but it does fill in a couple of gaps where the story of Oz and the Warlord is concerned!
Death completes the issue with an interesting tale that works by itself and may lead into something more with the Death character? I don’t know, there have been some, so maybe?
