Some thoughts on Judge Dredd, Flesh, Future Shocks & Savage

2009

A nice Judge Dredd cover, full of action!

Part 3 of The Cube Root Of Evil concludes the Judge Dredd story. It does leave it a little open ended, so in the future the characters can be used! Although a little predictable, it was a fun Dredd read, with Dredd having some doubts about himself! There is some excellent art going on here too!

Flesh gives us a trio of problems – the beauty, the beast and the the bastard! Gorehead gives us some excellent art with some brilliant gruesome panels! We get a Mexican  standoff of sorts, and a father/daughter problem. And in the background is Gorehead! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Hunted concludes here, with the Rogue Trooper walking into a trap – and although he’s not sure what’s going on, there are some great action pieces! This is another open ended ending, which hopefully will lead us to something in the future!

Future Shocks has the Return Of The Revolutionaries – and this is a fun Sci-Fi adventure with a Star Wars feel! It builds up well, and I got the twist before the final panels, but I enjoyed it nevertheless!

Savage has the strange bedfellows partnership, robots and betrayal. I can understand the two betrayals, and the action is excellent. It looks like in the next issue we’re going to discover more about the glare!
