Reviews – Grimm Fairy Tales: Apocalypse & Spirit Hunters

Grimm Fairy Tales: Apocalypse #5 & Spirit Hunters #5

My thoughts on two of Zenescope Entertainment’s digital comics out this week!

The final part of the apocalypse, and Ali is making a deal with Death. It seems that he won’t go along with it, but Death has a trump card to play and it seems like he gets his own way!
Meanwhile Robyn and Marian have a little bonding to do! Things don’t go totally to plan, and there is some interesting aspects between the relationships between all the characters. There is a supreme sacrifice and some twists and turns to the end. I really liked this ending, it has a very final feel to it all and some of the issues will probably reverberate around the GFT universe. One already makes more sense from last week!

This was a really interesting read – more of a one-shot, with no real links into the bigger story. Nevertheless there is some progress made with the characters – we get a good understanding on where they stand and one also gets a bit of a shock! I liked the idea behind the ghost and the reasons of the haunting – it just goes to show that they’re not all bad, it all depends on how/why they died!
