The mystery continues in this second issue. It works really well, as The Spirit may not have even known there was a mystery if he had not been busting a different gang! We get some fun interrogation from the Spirit and it is all in the tone of the series – dark, but funny. Talking of dark, we get more shadowy meetings, which just happen to be eavesdropped on by a PI. All very convenient.
Even so the action and the investigation move this story on really well, with the art adding to the noir feeling to it all! Hopefully things will get into the full sway now, as we discover who and why they are kidnapping and killing (?) these people.
