Reviews: Jessica Jones, Nova & Star Wars: Doctor Aphra

Jessica Jones #6, Nova #4 & Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #5

My thoughts on some of the digital comics from Marvel Comics

It all comes together here, and then it falls apart right at the end! Jessica and Captain Marvel’s plan unravels and Jessica seems to have made the ultimate sacrifice of her friend. We find out the end game to the plan, and Jessica is pivotal to them all! The links to the wider Marvel Universe is interesting – with mentions of other groups and incidents (The Champions, The New Warriors) I think it works because the villains gripe is so understandable….
It looks like everything is all sorted, until we get to the end with Luke! I did like the chat between Luke and Danny!

A tale of two dates, as both Nova’s go on a date that mirror each other. This worked really well between the two generations – and the addition of Gamora was well done. Sam comes accross really well here – being a hero without his Nova helmet!
Of course in the background is the problem Richard Rider seems to be having – ever since he came back from the Cancerverse, he seems to have brought something with him. And now it’s out – this was built towards well, and I’ll be interested in seeing what comes of it!

As Aphra and her father get to the bottom of what happened to the lost Jedi, the Imperials attack. I did think the Imperial officer was taking it a bit easy – nevertheless I enjoyed this issue. There’s some really nice dialog between Aphra and her father – especially about her mother. The droids played their part well, and it looks like it’s just the two of them left alone with some sort of re-animianted Jedi on one side and angry Imperials on the other for the last issue!
