Reviews: Grimm Fairy Tales & Van Helsing Vs The Mummy Of Amun-Ra

Grimm Fairy Tales #5 & Van Helsing Vs The Mummy Of Amun-Ra #4

My thoughts on two digital comics from Zenescope Entertainment – Grimm Fairy Tales #5 & Van Helsing Vs The Mummy Of Amun-Ra #4

Skye gets something else of her mother’s. Her sword! It’s embedded with magic gems which seem to turn up just in time! This was a more simple mission, although there is something going on in Neverland that has to be dealt with. At the end of this there are hints of something more with Neverland, that I’m sure will pop up again in the future (placeholder!) Meanwhile Skye seems to be getting the hang of being a Guardian, although we don’t get any more of the mystery of the book.
Nevertheless this was a good issue, with some interesting action (although probably predictable!)

Manticore! That’s what the word was – and that’s what’s attacking Van Helsing at the beginning of the issue. Van Helsing finally starts to connect the dots, and she’s not happy about this at all!
We get some more flashbacks, but we don’t see how Van Helsing dealt with it all in the past – next issue I expect. Meanwhile, Van Helsing is doing some investigations herself and we see that she is very determined to find out what she wants. Note: I like the use of the word ‘bollocks’ in this issue.
We also get a rough idea of the god-queen’s plan and why she has kidnapped who she has!
