Reviews: Back To The Future, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universe & Robotanimals

Back To The Future #21, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universe #12 & TMNT Amazing Adventures Robotanimals #2 (of 3)

My thoughts on some of this weeks digital comics from IDW Publishing!

Part 3 of ‘Hard Time’ and the mystery deepens! We’ve got a missing time machine – and we’re not sure if it’s been stolen or time has been deleted! Then we’ve also got the mystery of Marty’s Uncle! We do discover some things about him though, like who was causing all the problems and the gang he was with. The problem being is that they’ve now met older Marty! This is getting enjoyable, and I like the 1970’s setting!

Karai features in this four part addition to the TMNT Universe. She’s back in Japan and is trying to find her way again. It’s an interesting read about a character who needs a bit more attention – will this adventure bring her back into the TMNT series proper? I don’t know, but this has only just begun! I like the addition of Koya, and Bludgeon, they are going through some changes and are adapting too – that is especially on point in the short backup story featuring Koya (I love the art and colours in that one!)

The adventures of the animated version of the Turtles continue in the second of this 3-part mini series. It looks like the Turtles are down and out – taken down by Stockman’s robot enhanced mutants, but the TMNT have a plan and it’s time for Donnie to get all technical. There’s some nice parts with the brothers as they get on Donnie’s case, but Master Splinter sorts them out! Love his ears!
The battle scenes are well done, and it sets up the final issue nicely with rescues and the destruction of Stockman’s plan in the play!
