Review: Grimm Tales of Terror Vol. 3 #9

A man unknowingly takes the place of an escaped mental patient on a bus headed to an asylum. Now he must prove to the doctors that he doesn’t belong there. But how do you know you’re not insane when everyone keeps telling you you’re crazy?

I enjoyed this twisted, twisty turny tale. No real horror in it – monsters, demons etc. It is a real mental ride with our ‘protagonist getting more and more unlikable until the end! The build is really nice, with more and more whining from him! You know from the preview as to what happens to him, as well as what he needs to do, but the real twists come right at the end, and I didn’t see them coming (well the final twist was good and could have been seen)

This is a good addition to the Grimm Tales Of Terror and a nice move away from the ‘monster of the month’ type horror!
