Review: Grimm Fairy Tales Presents Dance Of The Dead #2

The Trust Thing

My thoughts on the second issue of Dance of The Dead from Zenescope

Trapped in the Shadlowlands, Mystere and Jasmine must rely on each other to survive while searching for a way to escape back to Earth. But the evil wizard Gruel has other plans for them and that includes suffering at the hands of his newest ally…The Snow Queen.

This issue is full of trust issues! There is first the problem between Jasmine and Mystere. Their individual stories show why they may have problems dealing nicely with others – especially in a place like the Shadowlands. The bit with the vampire was well done – I didn’t see that coming, but I suppose it makes sense. The past histories also make sense too, with the link between the current master of the Shadowlands and how he got to that point shows a lot about him.

The betrayal we all saw coming, especially as we’ve been reading the main Grimm Fairy Tales series!

I enjoyed the art and the style and pacing of it works really well, although some points do feel a little juddering!
