Review – Half Past Danger II: Dead To Reichs #3

Some thoughts on the latest issue of Half Past Danger II: Dead To Reichs

Break In! The team must infiltrate the Japanese Chemical Warfare Division: Unit 731. The prize: priceless intel on the Nazi pathogen. With the help of Ishi’s sister Emiko and with Spot the Deinonychus in tow, the daring raid is afoot. But something none of them expected lies in wait within? something BIG. Bullet points: * The stakes are high, the board is set, and the action is hard-boiled. The time is HALF PAST DANGER.

Writer, Artist, Cover Artist
This one pretty much covered everything in a comic! So, we have spies, ninjas, nazis dinosaurs, mech, a femme fatale and a super soldier!
We start off directly after the previous issue, with a bit of a head to head between Ishi and John. Things come to a head and cooler headsd prevail (for now), before Tommy is eaten by an angry dinosaur.
What comes next is an interesting introduction to Ishi’s family – plus some comments about Moss – mainly in Japanese. Tommy can’t understand them though, so it makes an interesting aside as he struggles to get involved.
The assault on the facility was too easy and I think I was thinking this before the characters, but it’s nice to see my thoughts echoed. I liked the build to the end of the issue, as everything seemed calm in the middle of the issue. The twist at the end was very good, and I wonder how this all fits.
I bet Moss has something to do with it all!!!
