Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2068

Some thoughts on what’s inside Prog 2068 of 2000 AD

JUDGE DREDD: THE SHROUD by Michael Carroll (w) Paul Davidson (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

This arc completes and Dredd’s plan seems to work well. There is some classic Dredd here, as well as some good reactions to those around Dredd – especially those at the end of the prog. This also finishes Dredd’s adventures in the wilderness, and it has opened up the world a little bit, which may give us some bits in the future.

Dredd’s going home!

SAVAGE: THE THOUSAND YEAR STARE by Pat Mills (w) Patrick Goddard (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

The battle by Bill and the rebels against Quartz continues, and there is a proper firefight too! I like Bill’s comments, and Quartz’s words back are really well written. This was all out action as we get towards the end…

BRASS SUN: ENGINE SUMMER by Ian Edginton (w) INJ Culbard (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

This is a really good introduction back into Sumemer. Hardly anything is said, but the art speaks volumes. I like the colouring and the facial expressions say a thousand words!

BAD COMPANY: TERRORISTS by Peter Milligan (w) Rufus Dayglo (a) Dom Regan (c) Simon Bowland (l)

ABC WARRIORS: FALLOUT by Pat Mills (w) Clint Langley (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

More betrayals, and it looks like the ABC Warriors are getting themselves together and will be getting together. The plan looks like it’s unraveling and the build up to the return of the ABC Warriors is going really well. I really enjoyed the realisation in this issue, and the tracking of it all in the background – the art is continuing to be excellent!
