Some thoughts on Prog 2083 of 2000 AD
JUDGE DREDD: THE PARADIGM SHIFT by Michael Carroll (w) Jake Lynch (a) John Charles (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Part two of this new arc and we get some more background with some very interesting flashbacks. We’re not getting the full story and the use of Joyce as a partner is well done, as he asks the questions that we ask! We’ve got nerve gas and a secret orginisation, so more answers to come!
SKIP TRACER: HEAVY IS THE HEAD by James Peaty (w) Paul Marshall (a) Dylan Teague (c) Simon Bowland (l)
Skip Tracer is slowly building us up, with some information on the different people, as well as the different areas in the Cube. The art is excellent, and I’m looking forward to seeing some the more fast paced scenes. It seems we will be getting there soon!
SURVIVAL GEEKS: GEEK-CON by Gordon Rennie, Emma Beeby (w) Neil Googe (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
More convention tropes here, as well as some spoilers! There is something nasty happening, and it’s getting closer to our team. They are unaware of it though, so the suspense is really well done. I like the background characters too!
THE FALL OF DEADWORLD by Kek-W (w) Dave Kendall (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
We get some good action to kick off here, and it’s well done and well told. The frontier feel to it all works really well! We’ve got a bit of a nice/nasty team up and things seem to be getting together. I do enjoy the art in this series!
DURHAM RED: BORN BAD by Alec Worley (w) Ben Willsher (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
Durham Red is back being red, after her blue look last issue. I like the build up for this issue and we also get some background in the job that she has been hired to do. This was a quieter issue though!
