Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2101

Some thoughts on Prog 2101 of 2000 AD – out this week in shops and digitally, with Judge Dredd, Brink, Fiends of the Eastern Front, Skip Tracer and Kingdom

Fiends of the Eastern Font feature well on this cover fro Prog 2101

JUDGE DREDD: THE SMALL HOUSE

by Rob Williams (w) Henry Flint (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

Dredd’s plans get looked at here, with some interesting home truths coming from a former partner. Frank gets some action (and a shock at the end), but most of this is pretty deep stuff. An interesting comment of the nature of the Judges too!

BRINK: HIGH SOCIETY

by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)

We get some more of the other side in Brink. This gives us a look at how the other half live, and space is at a premium. There was nothing really untoward here, but it’s building up well, so I am interested to see where this is going!

FIENDS OF THE EASTERN FRONT: 1812

by Ian Edginton (w) Dave Taylor (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

The nature of the allies against the Russians is revealed.I like the logic behind it all, and when you look at it, it all makes sense. The more spooky aspects are really well done, and I’m loving the artwork in this story!

SKIP TRACER: LEGION

by James Peaty (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Dylan Teague (c) Ellie De Ville (l)

More of Skip’s history and some with his brother. We get a further look at Skip’s powers and some hints behind his time in the military. That will be interesting and I’m sure their problems are going to go deeper. The problem his brother has is interesting, and I wonder where it is leading!

KINGDOM: ALPHA AND OMEGA

by Dan Abnett (w) Richard Elson (a) Abigail Bulmer (c) Ellie De Ville (l)

There’s a lot of fast paced action here, and life on Earth doesn’t seem too good. the ticks are making their presence known, and Gene has to fight it. I like the way this was all set up and the reveal was well done!
