Some thoughts on Rainbow Brite #2 from Dynamite Entertainment! We catch up with Wisp and Twinkle in this all-ages series!

Wisp and Twinkle run into trouble in a magical land when they find themselves face to face with mad scientist Murky and his sidekick Lurky, but as they try to make their way to safety, they discover an important part of what it means to be Rainbow Brite!

Rainbow Brite #2

This issue jumps right into the story as we left off. Rainbow Land seems to have a lot of problems and it looks like Twink and Wisp are the only ones that can stop them. The deck seems stacked against the duo – any potential helpers are locked up by the Shadow King. There are Shadow Hounds on the loose, plus there are the henchmen of the Shadow King.
In this issue there is quite a lot of exposition in this issue, but the observations are mostly made on the move, on in action, so they flow along with the story well.
One of my favourite aspects is the art and colours working out really well. Obviously most of the the backgrounds are grey – due to the Shadow King, but there are some nice stand out moments. This also makes the final page extra special!

This is a really good all-ages series, and very enjoyable to read, with easy on the eye art and some excellent dialog to go in with it all. Worth reading!
