Some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2122
JUDGE DREDD: MACHINE LAW by John Wagner (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Completing the arc, this finished nearly how I expected. Dredd is pretty kick-ass in this issue, and there are some interesting points moving forward. There is a nice twist at the end, something I didn’t expect, but was a good ending!
SKIP TRACER: LOUDER THAN BOMBS by James Peaty (w) Paul Marshall (a) Quinton Winter (c) Ellie De Ville (l)
A good ending here. Nolan gets a good measure of revenge, and it finishes really well. I really enjoyed this ending and the way out of it all, hopefully we will see a return of Skip Tracer!
THARG’S 3RILLERS: TOOTH AND NAIL by Andi Ewington (w) Staz Johnson (a) Abigail Bulmer (c) Simon Bowland (l)
“Nail” is revealed, and although there is no supernatural or Sci-Fi element to this ending, there is a good finish to the story. Again, this is a story thread I would like to read more of! A good gangster read!
GREY AREA: SHOOT TO KILL by Dan Abnett (w) Mark Harrison (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
This issue was all talk, but it’s good talk. It’s a wrap up of the arc so far, and gives us a look going forward. It seems that the cards are now all on the table, and also what is going to happen in the future! I really enjoyed reading this!
JAEGIR: BONEGRINDER by Gordon Rennie (w) Simon Coleby (a) Len O’Grady (c) Annie Parkhouse
Completing the arc on a low point. Jaegr is in some serious trouble in the hands of the southerners, but she is not without hope. Her team are looking to rescue her, and the build up of this issue will lead to a future story. A good finish and tease!
