Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2127

Some thoughts on 2000 AD – Prog 2127, out this week from Rebellion

JUDGE DREDD: THE LONG GAME by Michael Carroll (w) M ark Sexton (a) John Charles (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

Part two of this new arc and Dredd is again a peripheral figure in the story. It is an interesting look at a criminal group who seem to have a lot of power and links inside the Judges. Dredd seems to be getting close though.

SURVIVAL GEEKS: DUNGEONS & DATING (BASIC) by Emma Beeby, Gordon Rennie (w) Neil Googe (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

The final part of this Survival Geeks arc, and there is a lot of sould searching from the team. I like the way it ended and there is a nice tease for the next arc! This arc did feel a little short though – I thought it could have been stretched out more!

SCARLET TRACES: HOME FRONT by Ian Edginton (w) D’Israeli (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

The fightback is here and there are some interesting tactics and hope spots. I love the art and the mix between the big battle and those at home is well done!

MAX NORMAL: HOW THE MAX GOT HIS STRIPES by Guy Adams (w) Dan Cornwell (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)

We find out a lot more about Max’s upbringing and it adds to the characters mystique. The death attempts continue and this was pretty good (not as good as the mad dry cleaning robot) These look like they’re going to escalte though!

KINGMAKER: OUROBOROS by Ian Edginton (w) Leigh Gallagher (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

Into the mines of Moria Vale of Tears, and the link between the groups is made here. The build up to the trouble is well done, and I love that final page!
