Here are some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2130, a special all-ages issue!
JUDGE DREDD vs GRUDZILLA by Chris Weston (w+a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
This was a good fun read, with Dredd & Rico as Cadets. You can already see the differences between them and the action is good fun. There are some good bits of humour here, with some with may resonate more with older readers!
FULL TILT BOOGIE by Alex De Campi (w) Eduardo Ocana (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
This was an interesting read – and possibly something I would be interested in reading more about. I like the buildup and the premise is well done. The art style is something different for this sort of story and I really enjoyed it!
FUTURE SHOCKS: THAT WEIRD KID by Karl Stock (w) Brett Parson (a) Simon Bowland (l)
A good Future Shock, with an on-brand 2000AD message! I liked this one, with some good ‘Beano’ type humour thrown in!
ANDERSON PSI DIVISION: SPELLCRAFT by Alec Worley (w) PJ Holden (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Ellie De Ville (l)
A nice Anderson read, with some good pop culture thrown in (I like the name of the next block!) This was short and very sweet!
FINDER & KEEPER by Leah Moore, John Reppion (w) Davide Tinto (a) Pippa Mather (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Another finish with a question mark, and another I would like to see more of. A good read and has the right amount of adventure and a tease to keep you hooked.
ROGUE TROOPER: SECRET OF THE KEEP by Cavan Scott (w), Nick Roche (a) Abigail Bulmer (c) Simon Bowland (l)
Rogue Trooper is a tough shout for an all-ages, but this works well. A nice twist in the story and even a good introduction of Rogue Trooper to younger readers!!
