Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2131

Some of my thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2131 – including a special issue of Scarlet Traces. Out now in print and digitally!

JUDGE DREDD: NEW BLOOD by Rory McConville (w) Siku (c) (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

Dredd’s past comes back to haunt him. In this issue we get to see what it’s like for some recruits and how they are treated! An interesting read, and it will be interesting to see how Dredd reacts!

SCARLET TRACES: HOME FRONT by Ian Edginton (w) D’Israeli (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

The fightback starts here against the invaders. A good framing of what it is like on the streets, and it’s good to see the martians getting some back!
This is a fantastic looking story!

MAX NORMAL: HOW THE MAX GOT HIS STRIPES by Guy Adams (w) Dan Cornwell (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)

Now we’re getting to it! I like the way this has all been built up to this point and the kicker at the end is very interesting!

THARG’S THRILLERS: THE CHIMERA by James Peaty (w) Brian Corcoran (a) Matt Soffe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

Now we get to the bad side of this Thriller! I like the way we knew it was going to be bad – but this is really bad. How will the system fight back against this!

KINGMAKER: OUROBOROS by Ian Edginton (w) Leigh Gallagher (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

Talking of fightbacks – a powered up Orc, this was a good read and full of action. It looks like we are going to have a big battle in the next issue!
