Mark McCann, Steven Austin & Dave Evans have a kickstarter – Black North

A 96 page dystopian sci-fi noir in the vein of the best of American and European sci-fi, from the UK’s 2000AD Creators

BLACK NORTH IS A 96 Page GRAPHIC NOVEL. A Gritty Dystopian, Sci-Fi Noir, filled with Action, Thrills, Violence and a Dark Mystery at its heart.

Mark McCann and Steven Austin, both creators for the UK’s 2000AD, bring you a dark new world without restrictions, in the vein of the best 80s Sci-Fi, Post-Apoc Shockers. Welcome to the worst place on earth. Welcome to …

The future.

War rages throughout mainland Europe, swamping the UK with unprecedented numbers of desperate, starving refugees.

Northern Ireland is an organised crime state. A black economy; sealed off by border-wall and left to the gangs.

Amidst the new empires, Triad Matriarch Mandy W. Lee is targeted for death. A coup’s brewing within the Lee Clan and a gang war threatens their borders. Lieutenant Boquin Rowe is tasked with finding the would-be-killer. Former soldier turned MI5 mole, Rowe already has his hands full trying to save a group of refugee children from becoming cartel mules — without blowing his cover.

But nothing’s ever simple. Psychopathic soldier John Magoro, a spectre from Rowe’s past, has come North for revenge. Rowe races to unravel the mystery of Lee’s shooter, save the children, and prevent all-out war. But with Magoro on his heels will his past catch him first?

Black North is an action-packed dystopian noir in the vein of Escape from New York and China Town.
