Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2150

Some thoughts on this jumping on point for 2000 AD – Prog 2150

JUDGE DREDD: GUATEMALA by John Wagner (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

A new story arc ushers out some of the old. It’s an emotional moment as we see the end of an old firend (as does Dredd) and of course, there is no emotion anywhere! Then onto a new mission, one for Dredd and a team in a different country, and a possible problem….

HOPE: UNDER FIRE by Guy Adams (w) Jimmy Broxton (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

Hope returns, and there some worse flashbacks. This time going to a time of war, and the enemy have something that uses it’s head (or yours) a very clever method. It looks as though this is going to be related to Hope’s savior back then. And it doesn’t look nice!

BRINK: HATE BOX by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)

The gang wars seem to be going on in Brink, and this gives us a little look at the underbelly of the crime on the front line. There’s some interesting bits with the cops, and I think the sign is going to be important!

FUTURE SHOCKS: RESTRUCTURING by Karl Stock (w) Will Simpson (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

A nice sci-fi Future Shocks here, with robots, slaves and monsters – in more than one way! I like the build up, and the ending was perfect for this series!

ANDERSON, PSI DIVISION: JUDGE DEATH: THE MOVIE by Alan Grant (w) Jake Lynch (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)

A fun one-shot Psi story with a hint of Judge Death. This was another good look at what the citizens of Mega City One cause for the Judges – this time it’s the movie industry.

DEFOE: THE DIVISOR by Pat Mills (w) SK Moore (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

Defoe returns and it looks like there are problems with the Reeks beyond earth. Space is calling, but is it a good thing or not? It would seem not at the moment, but it looks like there is more for Defoe to investigate!

SINISTER DEXTER: WAITING IN CHAIRS by Dan Abnett (w) Steve Yeowell (a) John Charles (c) Ellie De Ville (l)

A nice wrap up from the last issue – this was pretty deep and gets us ready for the next story arc.

THE FALL OF DEADWORLD: DOOMED by Kek-W (w) Dave Kendall (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

An interesting start to this new Deadworld story arc – I wonder where that is leading? Meanwhile, things look a bit more immediate with the Eastern Bloc attacking!!
