Some thoughts on two of this weeks comics from Zenescope Entertainment – including new series Unbound #1 and Van Helsing Vs Dracula’s Daughter #3
In an alternate world called The Ether, a werewolf hunter named Lukas tracks down a mob outfit whose leader is a Lycan named Cain. After Lukas teams with a monster hunting newbie named Marna, the duo is able to locate their target. But an unexpected turn of events reveals that nothing is quite what it seems.Writer: Ralph Tedesco

This was a beginning issue that is full of twists and turns.
No I’m not going to give the game away either!
this was an excellent introduction to a new mini series from Zenescope. Unbound gives us all the rules and sets us up for those turns. There are turns going on that even the main characters don’t know about yet! It was really well done, with an interesting cast of characters and a unique style. I’m looking forward to issue #2!
Van Helsing vs. Dracula’s Daughter#3
Reeling from the tragic events of last issue, Helsing is hellbent on tracking down the creature who hurt her friends and turned her life upside down. But as the mysterious identity of her foe is revealed Helsing will learn how easily the hunter can become the prey. As a mid-point in the series this issue felt like it is treading water. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of action here, and some past and future problems to be dealt with. The past issue may cause a big problem in the future. It has a nice throwback to the Van Helsing Vs Robyn Hood series, and that makes a lot of sense.
It looks like there is a trap being set and Van Helsing is going to walk right into it – she must know its a trap though.
Next issue promises some answers, so we shall see!
