Review: Robyn Hood: Vigilante #5

The penultimate part of this Robyn Hood adventure is out now – here are my thoughts

The Mayor’s secret plan to gain control of New York City takes its first big step to becoming a reality. Meanwhile, Robyn has returned to the Underground and its residents have given her anything but a warm welcome. But the Vigilante Hunter Squad, with the cybernetically augmented Peacock in tow, plans to crash their ill-fated reunion and reign destruction on the Underground. Will Gynt and his group of mutated henchmen be willing to team up with Robyn to prevent the destruction of their home, or will the V.H.S. bring the whole Underground crashing down?

Writer: Ben Meares
Artwork: Babisu Kourtis

There is a fair amount of action in this issue, and I like the way everything moves. Robyn is in a tough spot with robots behind her and the underground in front of her. Neither of their intentions is good.
Emmett is well done, and you knew the build-up to his change was coming, but it was fun to read. There were some unexpected items in this and they played out very well.
Peacock is an interesting character, and I hope we see more of him in later stories. The fight scenes and the art of the devastation were excellently done.

This all leads up nicely to the final issue that I am looking forward to!
